chef bBarb Vermilye founded Tasty Treats  in 1999.  She developed a passion for chocolate and dreamed of having her own speciality candy shop at a very young age.  She loved watching “Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory ” and aspired to be a great chocolatier and pastry chef by making people great chocolates and awesome pastry creations as well as putting a smile on their face. Today you’ll still find that she loves to watch the original movie and strives to bring those same smiles to the faces of people everywhere and tantalize them with new and creative concoctions. She has explored many facets of the culinary world while attending culinary school and throughout her career, however, something always brings her back to chocolate artistry and the pastry arts.

Chef Barb is a classically educated chef and pastry chef. Throughout her professional career of over 25 years, she has made it her mission to crack the subtle secrets of chocolate and explore the outer limits in sweet pastry designs. In doing so, she enjoys keeping her creative mind flowing and continues to come up with out-of-the-box ideas for unique creations and flavors.
